Welcome to Rado Heritage Ranch, a 50-acre homestead and family farm in Wills Point, TX.
We're Tracee and Robert, a husband-and-wife team dedicated to raising heritage Red Devon Cattle and Navajo-Churro Sheep through regenerative farming.
We're stewards of the land we've been blessed with, here to provide our Texas community with nutrient-rich and ethically raised beef and lamb that you can trust.
Start an OrderThe land that is now Rado Heritage Ranch has been in Tracee's family since her grandparents bought it in 1931. The name "Rado" is a tribute to her grandmother's middle name, honoring the legacy that started it all.
For decades, the farm lay dormant, until Tracee and Robert felt the pull to return to the ranch in 2014.
The couple moved away from Dallas to a new, open space, determined to be fed from the same ground where their feet were now planted.
For Tracee, it was a lifelong dream to live and work on the land she always knew as home. For Robert, who grew up in Navajoland, it was a chance to come back to his roots.
Contact UsWe exclusively raise animals from the Livestock Conservancy list. These are breeds that are in danger of being lost forever. By creating a market for them and making their lives part of ours, we help ensure their survival for future generations.
Considered the oldest beef breed in America, Red Devons arrived with the pilgrims at Plymouth. The pilgrims threw the cattle overboard and forced them to swim ashore, ensuring only the hardiest survived.
This resilient cattle breed is known for its unique ability to develop excellent marbling and flavor on a diet of grass and forage alone. And their docile nature and adaptability make them perfect for homesteaders and small farms.
The story of the Navajo-Churro sheep is one of survival and cultural significance, an animal deeply intertwined with the history of the Navajo people.
The Navajo-Churro Sheep is a species that has faced near extinction multiple times. By raising them, we honor their incredible resilience, enjoy exceptionally lean and flavorful lamb, and help preserve a vital piece of American history.
We believe that healthy food starts with healthy soil. This is the core of regenerative agriculture.
Our animals are forage-finished. Their diet consists of natural grasses, legumes, and diverse cover crops like alfalfa, oats, and daikon radishes. We never use corn or soy. This creates beef and lamb with a richer flavor and a healthier fatty acid profile.
In partnership with the NRCS, we practice intensive rotational grazing. We move our herds frequently to fresh pasture, mimicking the natural patterns of wild herbivores. This allows the land to rest and recover, preventing overgrazing and improving soil health.
Our focus is on holistic, sustainable practices that provide the best final product in our environment. Tilling destroys the delicate microbiome essential to healthy plant life, so we never do it. Instead, we broadcast seed directly onto our pasture to preserve it.
